How do I get started?

The first thing to do is book in for an assessment.  This will enable you to meet with your potential new trainer to discuss your reasons for beginning a training program.  It will also give your trainer a good idea of what level to start your training, and what methods will best suit your individual needs.

Once I start, am I obligated to continue?

No.  You are always in control of your training.  At no time are you under any obligation (financial or otherwise) to continue training if you don’t want to.

I want to do Shared Personal Training Sessions, but don’t know anyone else who wants to do it.  Does LPF have an existing group I can join?

Yes.  We can either slot you into an existing group, or try to organise a new group for you.

What are the payment options?

We are very flexible with regard to payment.  You can pay by cash, card or cheque.  You can pay as you go, or if you pay for ten sessions in advance, we will give you a 10% discount.

What hours are you open?

5.30am – 8.30 pm.

How many people use the gym at any one time?

There are never more than 8 people using the gym at any one time.  There are never more than 6 people using the pilates studio at any one time.

What if I can’t make it to a session?

Please let us know as soon as possible if you can’t make it to a session.  As long as we are given reasonable notice, you will not be charged for the session.

What happens if I am late for a session?

We endeavour to accommodate occasional lateness, however, if there are no spaces available, you will have to live with a shorter session!

How often do I need to come?

This depend on what you want to achieve.  You will figure this out at your initial assessment with the help of your trainer.

Can I train on my own at LPF?

No.  LPF is a personal fitness studio.  You must have a booked appointment with a trainer to use the facilities.

I’ve tried everything but can’t lose weight?  Can you help?

Yes.  We can provide good advice on nutrition and help you monitor your energy expenditure and intake so as to help you lose fat.

How long after beginning work with a trainer will I see results?

This depend on how serious you are about achieving your goals.  Some clients notice a difference straight away, while for others it can take a few months.

Can pilates help me lose weight?

Generally, pilates does not result in fat loss.  Pilates will help to improve your posture, and tone your muscles, perhaps to a point where you may ‘appear’ to have lost some weight.  Pilates is great in combination with regular cardiovascular exercise.
